Arjuni Morgaon. Tendu leaves have been collected in many villages of the district. But the laborers collecting tendu patta have not received the bonus by the forest department even after a period of 9 months. Due to which the workers are facing financial crunch.
These workers have demanded immediate bonus. In Arjuni Morgaon tehsil of the district, private contractors under the control of forest department have got the work of tendu patta collection done in tendu patta collection centers in villages like Kelvad, Karandli, Gothangaon, Bondgaon, Surban, Barwa, Chicholi etc. While the bonus amount has not been deposited on the bank accounts of the workers even after a long period of 9 months has elapsed.
On the complaint of these laborers, social worker Dinesh Patil Rahangdale contacted the concerned office of the Forest Department and inquired. In which in respect of bonus, the Forest Department has shrugged off its responsibility by showing its finger towards the bank. Due to which there is doubt on whether the laborers collecting tendu leaves will get bonus or not.

The laborers collecting tendu leaves have to go to the forest since morning, keeping their lives on their palms. Every day one leaf has to be plucked and deposited. 70-80 betel leaves are prepared and deposited at the collection center. According to this, every year the Forest Department approves the bonus.
But this year, a period of 9 months has passed after the end of the tendu patta season. Even after this, the Forest Department has not deposited the bonus amount in the bank accounts of the workers. In this direction, the workers have demanded immediate attention of the senior officers to deposit the amount of tendu patta bonus.
