Pimpri: For the upcoming elections to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, the municipal administration submitted a rough draft of the ward structure to the State Election Commission. A period of 15 days has passed since then. It is being said that the Election Commission had suggested major changes in the plan. The administration has been reluctant to make the changes suggested by the Election Commission and there has been an increase in the furloughs of municipal officials in Mumbai. The municipal officials are hiding the mistakes by saying that the composition plan is not accepted. The lives of corporators and aspirants have hanged in the balance as the suspense over the draft of the division structure remains intact.
The municipal administration was expected to prepare the plan within the November 30 deadline given by the State Election Commission. The Municipal Corporation had sought an extension of 15 days for the rough plan. However, the Election Commission extended its deadline till December 6. The 2022 election of the Municipal Corporation will be held from a three-member ward.
