- The lock of the entrance opened at 5 pm
Chandrapur, Subbai-Chincholi project under Wakoli Ballarpur area is pending for 12 years. A total of 205 farmers’ land was acquired for the project. Those who have not been given jobs till date and compensation of about Rs 40 crore is due to the project victims. Therefore, at 9 am today, the victims of the project have slammed the office of the Chief General Manager at Dhoptala. After persuading the CGM, the lock has been opened at 5 pm.
Despite repeated demands, the patience of the victims of the Subbai-Chincholi project broke down due to lack of attention and started a sit-in agitation at the main gate by locking the CGM office. It is to be known that the victims of this project were agitating in front of the CGM office for the last five days. But not a single official of Wakoli intervened in the movement. Therefore, today to draw the attention of WECOLI administration, WCL has locked the Ballarpur Regional General Manager’s office.
The locking of the main entrance of the project victims’ office caused panic in the Wakoli administration. Due to the closure of the entrance of the office, the employees of the office concerned had to take shelter in the shade of the tree. Police increased security due to the launch of a lock-down movement of the project victims. An officer named Pulayya came to discuss with the agitators, but the agitators have asked the regional manager to discuss the matter.
In the month of February, the project-ridden Kisan Sangharsh Samiti had warned of agitation if the demand was not fulfilled by requesting their demands to the Wakoli administration. But the Wakoli administration did not take the warning seriously. Because for the last five days the victims were agitating outside the entrance. But today there has been a panic in the Wakoli administration due to the lock down.
Demands of project victims
One job on one Satbara, give a written letter to the ministry regarding not denotifying the proposal sent for denotification by misleading the farmers, compensation and job of the acquired land to 205 project victims of Chincholi, the process of benefits for the project victims has been completed. Therefore, immediately stopping the policy of delay in giving jobs and compensation, Wakoli has demanded to give jobs and compensation to the project victims.
Roshan Gaurkar, Anil Lokhande, Abhishek Kurvatkar, Sharad Chaple, Sanjay Kale, Bapu Jhade, Vachhla Jhade, Alka Chaudhary, Pooja Chaple along with hundreds of project victims are involved in the movement. Former Zilla Parishad member Avinash Jadhav, Shiv Sena sub-tehsil chief Ramesh Jhade, Yuva Sena tehsil president Amit Malekar are also involved in the movement.
So warning to stop coal dispatch from sunday
At 4.45 pm, the CGM, together with the agitators, explained them and assured to take their demands to the senior officers. Due to which the agitators opened the lock of the entrance at 5 pm. But the agitators have warned to stop the coal dispatch from Sunday if the demands are not considered positively in two days. The employees breathed a sigh of relief as the lock of the entrance gate was opened in the evening.
