Ulhasnagar : The Jal Kumbhi-free campaign was started a year ago on the Ulhas River, which quenched the thirst of lakhs of people of Thane district. After a year, the Ulhas river of Thane district has become Jal Kumbhi free. This experiment is being discussed all over the state, in such a situation, the state’s Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde said that this Jal Kumbhi liberation campaign and method will be implemented in other Jal Kumbhi-rich rivers in the state.
The issue of conservation of Powai Lake in Mumbai and Mula Mutha river in Pune was raised by the local public representatives in the budget session of the state. Shinde gave this information while speaking on the occasion. Therefore, Jal Kumbhi Mukti Abhiyan of Ulhasanadi has proved to be a guide for the state.

A unique way to liberate Jal Kumbhi
The experiments to extract Jal Kumbhi from river valleys with state-of-the-art machinery by announcing a contract worth crores of rupees have failed, but in the meantime, a unique method was adopted for the liberation of Ulhasnadi, which is called the lifeline of Thane district. In the municipal and municipal areas in which the rivers flowing, the problem of water hyacinth has increased. After the Jal Kumbhi Mukti experiment, water has not been seen in Ulhasanadi in the last few months and the water is also clean. Such information was given by Ashwin Bhoir, a member of Ulhasanadi Bachao Kruti Samiti and a villager of Varap village. On World Water Day, villagers from different villages on the banks of the river have expressed satisfaction over the cleanliness of the river.
