Special vigil is being kept on the liquor kilns and whereabouts of liquor in the village in Thane, Kalyan, Dombivali, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar (Thane, Kalyan, Dombivali, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar) and Ambernath. For this, five flying squads of CEOs have also been deployed.

The squad will consist of an inspector, two assistant inspectors, three soldiers and a driver. These teams will pay special attention to the sale of illicit liquor. Night patrol has been started. There are also a large number of people who buy village liquor as cheap and cold. Therefore, Thane superintendent of state excise department, Nilesh Sangade, told that in the backdrop of welcoming the new year, the state liquor department will keep a close watch on illegally started village breweries in various areas including Ambernath, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar.

282 cases registered in 23 days, 180 people arrested
In Thane district, from December 1 to December 23, the state production department had initiated action against those selling and transporting illicit liquor. During the action 282 cases were registered and 180 accused were arrested. According to the state production department, a total of 78 lakh goods including 9 vehicles and illicit liquor were seized.
