Pimpri: The State Election Commission has suggested a major change in the draft ward composition structure prepared by the municipal administration for the upcoming elections to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. According to the suggestion of the Election Commission, the condition of the officers of the Municipal Corporation making changes has become slim, and senior officials are posted in Mumbai. This confirms the allegation being leveled against the municipal administration that the ward composition has been made in favor of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
The committee announced by the municipal commissioner to prepare the draft plan was nominal. Information about the preparation of this draft of the ward composition has also come to the fore by only four officers of the Municipal Corporation.

Prepared a rough draft of the ward structure
Within the November 30 deadline set by the State Election Commission, the municipal administration plan was expected to be drafted. But the administration had asked for 15 more days for the plan. However, the Election Commission extended the deadline by only six days to December 6. The 2022 election of the Municipal Corporation will be like this in a three-member ward. Under this, the municipal administration has prepared a rough draft of the ward structure for the upcoming elections. The Election Department on Monday (December 6) handed over the draft to the State Election Commission. The presentation of the ward composition was presented before the State Election Commission on Saturday. For this, the Municipal Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of the Election Department were in Mumbai.
Many changes suggested
The draft was thoroughly scrutinized by the Election Commission. Is the population of the ward in proper proportion? Are natural flows, roads, flyovers designed as boundaries? It was examined in detail. Due to the large number of errors, the Election Commission has suggested several changes. In such a situation, the hard work of the municipal administration has been washed away. Additional Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of Elections are posted in Mumbai. Officials are reluctant to carry out the changes suggested by the Election Commission. This corroborates the allegation that the Nationalist Congress Party has constituted a friendly ward. The 25-member committee formed for the creation of the ward was just a name. There is a lot of discussion in the municipal circles that the rough draft has been prepared by four persons namely the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner and two Assistant Commissioners.
