The strike of ST workers in the district has completed 73 days, due to non-receipt of two months salary of the workers who were adamant on the agitation, they are facing hardships, meanwhile few workers are seen returning to work. Due to this some ST buses are running from the depot. Citizens are facing problems due to non-availability of ST buses in rural areas.
Let us inform that from October 28, ST workers started agitation in the district. A few days ago, an organization of ST workers decided to call off the agitation.
The other organization is not ready to back down
After this, one by one the workers involved in the movement are returning to work, after this another organization has decided not to back down from the strike, as a result the strike is not taking the name of ending in the district. The salaries of the workers involved in the movement were not even paid, as a result of which many employees and their families were mired in financial crisis. A few days ago, a worker of Arvi depot tried to burn himself in the house due to suffering from this predicament. He was badly scorched, he is being treated at the hospital in Sevagram, due to non-payment of salary, the condition of most of the workers of the district has become very difficult.
The cost of repairing buses will increase further
There are a total of 224 ST buses at Arvi, Wardha, Talegaon, Pulgaon and Hinganghat depots in the district, 800 ferries have been affected in the district due to the strike.
