53 new ministers were sworn in
On Friday, the government was formed in Uttar Pradesh with the oath of 53 new ministers including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These include 18 cabinet ministers, 14 ministers of state with independent charge and 20 ministers of state. Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was Deputy Chief Minister in Yogi’s previous government, has been administered the oath even after losing the assembly elections. At the same time, the place of Dinesh Sharma, who was the second Deputy Chief Minister, has been given to Brajesh Pathak, who was the Law Minister in the previous government. Backward and Dalits, who played a key role in BJP’s bumper victory in this time’s assembly elections, have been given more than half the posts in Yogi’s new cabinet. Out of these, maximum 22 ministers have been made from backward classes and 9 Dalits. Two people from the minority community, Baldev Singh Aulakh and Danish Azad, have been given place in the cabinet. Among the allies, Ashish Patel of Apna Dal and Dr. Sanjay Nishad of Nishad Party have been made cabinet ministers.

The newly appointed cabinet ministers include Baby Rani Maurya, Swatantradev Singh, Arvind Sharma, Rakesh Sachan, Ashish Patel, Sanjay Nishad, Yogendra Upadhyay, Jaiveer Singh, Bhupendra Chaudhary and Dharampal, while the previous cabinet’s Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, Suresh Khanna , Surya Pratap Shahi, Jitin Prasad, Anil Rajbhar, Nand Gopal Nandi and Chaudhary Laxminarayan have been retained. Ministers of State with independent charge on Friday included Nitin Agarwal, Ravindra Jaiswal, Kapildev Agarwal, Sandeep Singh, Gulab Devi, Girish Yadav, JPS Rathore, Dharamvir Prajapati, Aseem Arun, Dayashankar Singh, Narendra Kashyap, Dinesh Pratap Singh, Arun Saxena and Dayashankar Mishra.
