Britain’s Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency issued a statement saying, ‘Unfortunately, 7 people died in 30 cases reported by 24 March’. After this, the Netherlands has stopped the vaccination of AstraZeneca. There have been cases of clotting of five blood clots, including women. People under 60 years of age were being vaccinated here. Germany has also decided to stop vaccination this week.
MEA may release statement soon
Like the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Medicines Agency (MEA) also described AstraZeneca’s vaccine as safe. But now on April 7, a revised advisory can be issued in this regard. The EMA also said on Wednesday that the vaccine is safe and experts did not see any risk in terms of age, gender and medical history.
Advantages of vaccine more harm less
Britain’s regulatory body said that 30 cases of blood clot have been reported. While 1.81 crore doses have been given in the country. According to the statement, based on the current information, we can say that the benefits of the vaccine are more and the disadvantages are less. The vaccine maker has also said that it does not increase the risk of blood clotting. AstraZeneca released a statement last month saying that the vaccine was found to be 79 percent effective in US trials and does not increase the risk of blood clots.
3.1 million vaccines approved in Britain
In Britain, 31 million doses were approved as the first vaccine dose. Under this, the vaccines of Oxford-AstraZeneca and Fyzal were to be used. People did not have the right to choose one of these options. In June 2020, the UK ordered 100 million doses of AstraZeneca (Oxford-AstraZeneca) and helped develop it. Also, the government ordered 3 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech.
