Hyderabad. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday said the “security lapse” during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab two days ago is a serious issue and it is not good that persons holding high constitutional posts remain trapped. Sangh’s Saha Sarkaryavah Manmohan Vaidya told reporters here, “It is a serious issue. This is also being investigated. The government will do its job. It is not good for people holding high constitutional posts to be trapped like this. This is not good for the country.”
Vaidya briefed the journalists about the three-day coordination meeting of ‘Sangh Parivar’ organizations that concluded here on Friday. Vaidya was asked about the “security lapse” during the Prime Minister’s visit to Punjab on January 5, to which he made the remarks. He said 36 independent, autonomous organizations participated in the meeting and 216 delegates, including 24 women, were expected, of whom 91 per cent participated.
Responding to the question of what is the goal of the Sangh, he said that it (Sangh) is making India the greatest nation in the world. On the ongoing debate regarding assembly elections in some states in the light of rising cases of COVID-19, Vaidya said that the Election Commission has already talked about it.
He said the government was trying to find a way to conduct the democratic process while addressing the health concerns of all. He said that what should be according to the law, it is a different matter. Regarding the app targeting women, he said that it is wrong to talk maliciously about women, irrespective of any religion. When asked whether education was being saffronised through the National Education Policy, he said those who are involved in such campaigns would continue to do so.
He said that there are many “tukde-tukde gangs” who are creating division by opposing the identity of India and the element that unites the country. He said such efforts have been made in the past as well. He said that if any specific details are shown regarding education policy, there can be debate, but such allegations have always been leveled against the RSS. The RSS leader said 36 independent, autonomous organizations participated in the meeting and 216 delegates, including 24 women, were expected, of whom 91 per cent attended.
According to an RSS release, many youths are showing interest to join the organization through the website of the RSS. Between 2017 and 2021, an average of one lakh to 1.25 lakh people expressed interest to join the organization every year, the release said.
