Russia-Ukraine War: Today (22 March) is the 27th day of the war between Russia and Ukraine. America has expressed displeasure for the first time with India’s stand in the Russia-Ukraine war and this is clearly visible from the statement of President Joe Biden. US President Joe Biden has said that India’s stand on Russia’s attack on Ukraine has been somewhat unstable.
Biden said on Monday that India was an exception among US allies in its “volatile” response to Russia’s attack on Ukraine, AFP reported. Biden said India has reacted “voluntarily” to the Russian attack on Ukraine and that it is a separate country among US allies to do so.
In addition, the US President lauded the US-led coalition, including NATO, the European Union and major Asian partners, for a united front against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Addressing a meeting of US business leaders in Washington, Biden said there is a united front across NATO and the Pacific. He further said that India’s response in the quad countries has been somewhat volatile with an exception, but Japan and Australia seem to be very strong on this.
What does America want from India?
Actually, to teach a lesson to Russia, many countries including America have imposed sanctions on it. America wants all countries to support those sanctions. The US President also wants India to speak openly on this issue and criticize Russia. However, India is not showing interest in doing so keeping in mind its strategic interests.
Unlike fellow members of the QUAD group – Australia, Japan and the US – India continues to buy oil from Russia. Apart from this, India also did not participate in the UN resolution condemning Russia.
Russia bombed chemical plant
Ukraine’s prosecutor general said Russian shells also hit a chemical plant on the outskirts of the city of Sumy. A bomb was dropped on the plant at 3 pm on Monday, which led to the leakage of 50 tonnes of ammonia gas kept in a tank. The Prosecutor General said it took several hours to get the gas under control.
On the other hand, Russian military spokesman Igor Konashenkov claimed that the gas leak was a planned provocation on the part of Ukraine. He said the Ukrainian military was falsely accusing Russia of carrying out chemical attacks.
