Russia Ukraine War: Ukraine’s leaders accused Russia of arresting 15 rescue workers and drivers by intercepting a humanitarian aid convoy that was trying to send food and other items to Mariupol. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said about 100,000 people in the city were still living “in inhumane conditions, without food, water, medicine due to a complete blockade and under constant shelling”.
Zelensky, in his video address to the nation on Tuesday night, accused the Russian military of blocking aid convoys despite agreeing on a humanitarian corridor.
“We are trying to organize stable humanitarian corridors for the residents of Mariupol, but unfortunately almost all of our efforts have been thwarted by Russian shelling or deliberate violent activities,” he said.

The Red Cross confirmed that a humanitarian aid convoy was trying to reach the city, which was stopped.

Russia destroys Chernobyl power plant’s lab
On the other hand, Russian military forces have destroyed a new lab at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant which, among other things, worked to improve the management of radioactive waste. Ukraine’s government agency responsible for the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone gave this information on Tuesday.
At the beginning of the war, the Russian army had captured this closed plant. The government agency said that with the support of the European Commission, work was done in 2015 in the lab built at a cost of six billion euros.
The lab had “samples of highly active and radiation isotopes (radionuclide), which are now in enemy hands,” the agency said in its statement.
