Russia-Ukraine Crisis: According to a US media report, Russia is recruiting trained people from Syria to fight for the war against Ukraine. American officials have claimed this in a conversation with the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal.
Although officials did not say how many Syrian fighters have agreed to join the war against Ukraine, officials have said some fighters have arrived in Russia and are preparing to deploy to Ukraine.
According to the report, Syria and Russia have voluntarily offered salaries ranging from 200 to 300 dollars to those fighting in Ukraine. According to the report, they have been asked to fight for six months. Russian officials believe Syria’s people have combat experience due to a decade-long civil war and can help capture cities in Ukraine.

US officials believe that Syrian fighters are not only foreigners who will fight for Russia in Ukraine but have also been sent to Chechen forces. On the 12th day of the war, the return of Indians under Operation Ganga is also going on. The Civil Aviation Ministry on Sunday said eight flights would be operated on Monday to bring home more than 1,500 Indians from neighboring countries of war-torn Ukraine. Ukraine’s airspace has been closed since February 24 due to Russian attacks.
Indian citizens coming out of Ukraine are being brought home by planes from countries like Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that 2,135 Indians have been brought back from neighboring countries of Ukraine today (on Sunday) under Operation Ganga.
The statement further said that eight special flights are expected to operate from Budapest (five), Sukiyva (two) and Bucharest (one) tomorrow (Monday), bringing back over 1,500 Indians.
According to the report, so far 16,000 citizens have been brought to India by 76 aircraft under Operation Ganga, which was run for the return of Indians stranded in Ukraine. However, according to the English newspaper The Hindu, 700 students are still trapped in Sumi.
