Russia Ukraine War: Harjot Singh, an Indian citizen who was injured by multiple bullets in Ukraine, has appealed to the Indian government to expel him from the war-affected country. In a video shared by news agency ANI, Singh said that he has not yet received any support from the Indian Embassy.
“I am trying to contact them, every day they say we will do something, but no help has been received so far,” he said. Singh is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.

Sharing the incidents of firing, the Indian national said that on February 27, they were 3 people in a cab, who were on their way to the third checkpoint, where they were asked to return due to security reasons.
He said, “While coming back, several bullets were fired at our car, which hit me with multiple bullets…” Singh requested the government to help him with documents, provide wheelchairs and get him out of Ukraine.

Harjot said, “After death if you send charter (aircraft), it doesn’t matter… God has given me a second life, I want to live it. I request the embassy to get me out of here.” Provide me facilities like wheelchair, help me with documentation.”
Singh further said, “The doctors told that you were lying on the road for 3-4 hours and I had lost a lot of blood. After the treatment, now my health is much better than before.”
At the same time, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that the Government of India will bear the full cost of Harjot Singh. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “The Government of India will bear the cost of Harjot Singh’s treatment. We are trying to gather information about his medical condition. Being in the conflict zone, he is facing trouble.”
