Pune: Pune Zilla Parishad has launched a campaign to complete the works in 100 days. Under this, the Zilla Parishad has accomplished the feat of making about 246 km of roads in different tehsils of the district, that too in just one day. This includes 125 km of paved roads, about 46 km (Kilometer) of concrete road. This claim was given by Pramod Kakde, Chairman, Construction and Health, Pune Zilla Parishad.
Road construction and other works are included in the 100-day campaign run by the Zilla Parishad. In this, about two thousand 635 km of road construction works are involved. Out of this, 682 works were started in a day on Tuesday. In this regard, the report of the campaign was presented in the meeting of the construction committee held on Wednesday. On Tuesday, out of 2 thousand 635 works, 246 km of roads have been constructed. It has 125 km of paved roads, about 46 km of concrete road. The administrative work of the remaining works will be completed. Also, the tender process is being done expeditiously, Pramod Kakade said.
Road work left in Velha, Purandar, Shirur
Most of the road works in the district have been completed in Ambegaon, Indapur, Daund, Baramati tehsils. The least number of road works have been done in Velha, Purandar, Shirur talukas. The total work done on Tuesday also includes construction work of 106 buildings in the district. It also includes the works of Gram Panchayat, Anganwadi, Graveyard. The administration also gave such information.
For the first time in the history of Zilla Parishad, 246 km long roads have been completed in a day in the district. Out of which asphaltization of 125 km long roads has been completed. Due to the actions taken by the office bearers of the Zilla Parishad in solidarity with the officials, this work was made possible.
