Nearly a decade ago, 4-5 thousand people attended the Friday prayers at the Eid Kah Mosque (Mosques in China) on the historic Silk Road of Kashgar.
Symbolic picture
Restrictions on Religion in China: The month of Ramadan is very sacred for the people of Muslim religion (Islam in China), which they celebrate with full devotion. But Muslim people living in China also do not have the freedom to do so. That is, China has imposed many restrictions on celebrating the festival. Tursajan Mamat, who lives in Xinjiang province of China, says that he has fasted on Ramadan, but both his 8 and 10-year-old daughters have not. Because there is a ban on doing religious work, including fasting for minors.
32-year-old Mamak Uygar is a Muslim. He says that there is no listener in China, here the Communist Party has also tied religion to the rules. He says that his children know about his holy creator, but he is not able to give them detailed information related to religion (Ramzan in China). But after the age of 18 years, children can acquire religious knowledge of their own free will. Here the future of Islam religion is not visible due to the policy of the government.
Mosques are being demolished
Along with this, mosques are also being demolished. This is an allegation that Beijing always rejects. The number of people who offer Namaz is also decreasing rapidly. Nearly a decade ago, 4-5 thousand people attended the Friday prayers at the Eid Kah Mosque on the historic Silk Road of Kashgar (Mosques in China). The Imam of the mosque, Mamat Zuma, says that now this number has been reduced from 800 to 900. He has told the reason behind this, the change within the people more than the government policies.
Government running propaganda
The Imam said that the young generation wants to spend most of its time in reading more than Namaz. China is running a kind of propaganda here. In April, the Chinese government organized a five-day visit even after foreign journalists arrived. In which officials kept saying arbitrary talk to these journalists. China says that it gives people freedom of religion and people can pray as they wish. But all these should be under the law.
Everyone can’t keep rosa
Talking about the restrictions, a primary school teacher says that education and religion are two different things, so he cannot keep fasting. So at the same time a worker who works in the cotton factory says that Namaz is prohibited for everyone there (Muslims in China). But Namaz can be read by going to home and mosque. By law, Chinese are allowed to follow Islam, Buddhism, Taoism, Roman Catholicism or non-denominational Protestantism. But in fact, there are many restrictions on it.
