As soon as the news of the construction of STP plant in Mansarovar resident area was received, a huge protest was shown by the local citizens unitedly. It is a surprising fact that during the elections, public representatives standing in the municipal elections including Thane District Guardian Minister, Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP MP, Union Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Kapil Patil, Shiv Sena former MLA Rupesh Mhatre etc. For the sake of the STP plant in the Mansarovar complex, which has been proved to be completely false.
Construction of STP plant should be canceled in Mansarovar
Local BJP councilor Shyam Aggarwal told in the above context that before I was a councilor, the approval of STP plant was given by the Municipal Corporation in 2015. Even after getting the approval of the STP plant, a protest was lodged with the local citizens. In 2019, the then Municipal Commissioner Manohar Hire had ordered the officials to search for other alternative places to transfer the STP plant, but the officials did not pay any heed. Aggarwal says that due to the construction of STP plant in the residential area, heavy pollution, pollution will increase, which will have a very adverse effect on the health of thousands of people living in the surrounding premises including Mansarovar-Phulenagar. Regional BJP councilor Agrawal said that if the government and the municipal administration do not transfer the STP plant elsewhere, then they will approach the High Court regarding the serious issue of health security.
