Pakistan Court Granted Pre-Arrest Bail to Maryam Nawaz: The Pakistan court on April 12 for the daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the country’s main opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (Pakistan Muslim League (N)) vice-president Maryam Nawaz. The anticipatory bail petition has been accepted on Wednesday. This case is related to the illegal acquisition of land. The Lahore High Court has barred the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting Maryam and granted him anticipatory bail till 12 April.
The court also ordered Maryam to deposit a security of 10 lakh Pakistani rupees. NAB is investigating allegations against Maryam for allegedly buying 148 Kanal (18.5 acres) of land in Lahore through illegal use of official resources and money laundering in the Chaudhary Sugar Mill case (Maryam Nawaz Anticipatory Bail Petition Accepted by Court). Maryam has been out on bail since November 2019 in the investigation of a money laundering case.
NAB issued summons
The Bureau had requested the Lahore High Court to cancel his bail, after which the court issued him a notice for seven April (Pakistan Court Granted Pre-Arrest Bail to Maryam Nawaz). NAB has issued summons to them to appear in both cases on Friday. PML-N and Maryam have feared that NAB may arrest them in the land case. Earlier, the bureau had said that in the years 1992-1993, when Maryam’s father was the Prime Minister, he had made money with the help of some foreigners.
The investigation started in 2018

It was then revealed that Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Shahbaz Sharif and his family, Abbas Sharif and his family are shareholders in a company (Maryam Nawaz in Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case). Shareholders include people from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Britain. According to the report, it was revealed in the investigation that from 2001 to 2017, heavy investment was made in the mills. Then billions of rupees were invested to issue shares in the name of foreigners.
