These days, vegetables are coming on a large scale from nearby cities and villages in the Mandi of Agricultural Produce Market Committee located in Ramnagar of the city. This market is drenched with green and fresh vegetables. Vegetables are supplied from this vegetable market in most of the villages of the district. In Ganj Ward, Bhiwapur and Bengali Camp of the city, goods are bought and sold from this wholesale vegetable market, even in weekly markets held in Durgapur every Sunday and in other villages on other days, vegetables are also sold from here. There is supply.
The way the arrival of vegetables has increased in the city for the last few days, due to which the prices of vegetables are seeing a sharp decline. At some places in the city, tomato is being sold for Rs 10 a kg while in the retail market it is selling at Rs 20 a kg. Due to the continuous increase in the arrival of local vegetables, the prices of green vegetables have also fallen.
It is worth noting that, in general, the common consumers, who are suffering from the inflation of vegetables, have now started getting relief from the fall in the prices of vegetables. It is being told that along with outward arrivals, these days the wholesale and retail prices of vegetables are witnessing a decline of up to fifty percent since the last one week due to increase in arrivals from the local areas of the city. Till last week, tomato being sold for Rs 40 per kg has reached Rs 10 to 20 per kg. Similarly, cauliflower, which is being sold for Rs 60 per kg, is also selling for Rs 20 to 30 per kg.
These days the arrival of carrot, radish, green coriander, wet onion, peas, ginger, green chili has also increased in the market. Due to which in the markets carrot Rs 20 kg, beetroot Rs 25 kg, green chilli Rs 40 kg, cabbage Rs 25-30 kg, cauliflower Rs 30-40 kg, gourd Rs 20 kg, brinjal Rs 20-25 kg, bitter gourd Rs 40 Kilograms are on sale. Green coriander is also being sold for Rs 40 a kg.
