Bhandara, To complete the election process of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti, 7406 employees will be engaged on service. While giving information regarding the elections, the District Magistrate has said that 10 sensitive, two hypersensitive, 17 Naxal affected polling stations have been set up in the district. The first phase of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections will be held on December 21. These elections are going to be held in 39 Gats and 79 Gans. 245 candidates for Zilla Parishad and 417 for Panchayat Samiti will try their luck.
Preparations have been made to deploy 7406 employees to conduct the election process. In these, 131 regional officers, 1455 polling station heads and 4365 polling officers will be deployed.
In the district, there are two vulnerable centers in Tumsar tehsil and 8 in Lakhandur tehsil, 10 sensitive centers in Lakhandur tehsil. There are 17 Naxal affected centres. The employees doing election work have been trained for two days. The administration has geared up to get the election work of District Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti, Nagar Panchayat done well. Tight police arrangements will be made to prevent any untoward incident in the elections.
Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police, the deployment of police units will be done in the polling stations. With the help of 8 DYSP, 23 police inspectors, 147 assistant police inspectors, 1870 men, 700 home guards, three platoons of SRPF, the election will be conducted peacefully.
