Jaipur: In Churu district of Rajasthan, a case of kidnapping, assaulting a 25-year-old Dalit youth and forcibly making him drink urine due to old enmity has come to light. Giving this information, the police said that two accused have been arrested in this regard. The victim Rakesh Meghwal, resident of Rukhsar village of Ratangarh police station area, had lodged a case against the accused on January 27. Based on the complaint of the victim, the police registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Police said that the victim alleged that Umesh Jat along with seven other Jat community members Rajesh, Rakesh, Tarachand, Birbal, Akshay, Bidadi Chand and Dinesh abducted her from home at 11 pm on January 26 and took her in a vehicle. He was taken to a nearby field with the intention of killing him.
The victim alleged that Rakesh and Rajesh forced her to drink alcohol and all the accused forced her to drink by urinating in an empty liquor bottle and then thrashed her before leaving the village. In the FIR, Meghwal alleged that the accused hurled casteist abuses at her and humiliated her by using derogatory words against Dalits, saying that they (Dalits) had been taught a lesson to dare confrontation with the Jat community.

A case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of SC/ST including sections 143, 365 and 382 of the Indian Penal Code. The victim Meghwal has injury marks on her back which confirms that she was beaten up, police said. “It has been confirmed that the victim was beaten up and two accused have been arrested in this regard,” said Himanshu Sharma, the investigating officer and circle officer of Ratangarh. He said that the allegation of forcing the victim to drink urine is yet to be confirmed.
Two accused Umesh and Birbal were arrested on Saturday evening and the vehicle has been seized. He told that all the people belong to the same village. Meghwal is a farm laborer and some of the accused are students. He said that the victim has alleged that when he was playing an instrument on Holi last year, the accused made alleged remarks on him, which led to a dispute. (agency)
