Mumbai: If everything goes according to plan, private OPD will be started soon in KEM Hospital of BMC. In such a situation, if a patient wants to get treatment from experienced doctors of BMC by spending money for treatment, then they will be able to take advantage of this OPD.
The doctors working in BMC hospitals and medical colleges are promising and highly experienced. People from other districts and states move to Mumbai for treatment. Health department officials said that there are many people who are even ready to pay money for taking treatment from the doctors of BMC. BMC has also received these suggestions from many patients and other sections of people.

BMC is planning
In view of this, BMC is now planning to implement these suggestions. It is being planned to be started under a pilot project at BMC’s KEM Hospital and Medical College. If this initiative gets a good response from the people, then private OPD will be started in Nair and Sion Hospital of BMC also.
10 percent beds will be reserved
Just as Wadia, Tata Hospitals have the option of getting treatment in private and government, similarly this option will be available in BMC hospitals as well. In addition to the private OPD in KEM Hospital, 10 percent of the total number of beds will be reserved for private.
At present we are planning to start OPD. If all goes well, this service will start in the coming year. From the start of this service, there will be no effect on the free service. People’s trust in BMC hospitals will increase and we will also help in further strengthening the health infrastructure. The facility provided in BMC hospital will be cheaper in comparison to private hospitals.
