After this order, there is a lot of displeasure among the district-wise including political and social organizations in the district. At the same time, political and social organizations are now seen becoming aggressive with the demand to cancel the said order and keep the transfer of elephants of Kamalapur. Various social organizations of Aheri tehsil have demanded to stop the transfer of elephants by sending a memorandum to the state government through the local administration.
Will not give transfer: Poddar
Shiv Sena’s district contact chief Kishor Poddar said that the elephant camp located in Kamalapur is a natural boon to Gadchiroli district. Here in the present situation, the forest department is proving to be a failure to take care of these elephants with a total of 8 elephants. Along with less number of mahouts here, there is also a lack of health facilities.
Discussions have been held with forest officials in this regard. Gadchiroli district has got a different identity due to Kamalapur Elephant Camp. But now efforts are being made to transfer the elephants here to the state of Gujarat. So that we will never give it. In this context, the Chief Minister of the State, including the Guardian Minister, will draw the attention of the State Government. He said such a thing.
Cancel the decision to transfer: Suntarkar
In the memorandum sent by the social worker of Aheri, Deepak Sunatkar, through the Tehsildar, to the guardian minister of the district, orders have been issued to transfer the elephants of Government Elephant Camp at Kamalapur and Patanil in Alapalli to outside the state. Due to which he has demanded immediate cancellation of the said order in a memorandum sent through Tehsildar to the foster minister Eknath Shinde of the district. Along with this, he has also warned of intensifying agitation if the transfer of elephants is not stopped.
