Palghar (Maharashtra): A team of police officers who were trying to stop cow slaughter in Palghar district of Maharashtra was allegedly attacked by a group of 13 people. The police gave this information on Friday. A police spokesman said that information was received that cows stolen from the meat shop were being slaughtered. After this a team of four policemen went to Tarapur on Wednesday evening to investigate it.
The team led by a constable reached a house in Tarapur and saw the accused committing cow slaughter. The accused attacked the police team with sharp weapons and injured them, the official said. He said that some cows were kept tied for cow slaughter in the meat shop. Some policemen of the team were injured in the attack and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment, the official said. The accused also tore the uniform of the policemen. He said that the police managed to nab the three accused Ansari Damanwala, Soheb Allabakar Koularikar and Suleman Patni, while the others fled the spot and a search was on for them.
