Mumbai : Mumbai Police has taken gangster Suresh Pujari on remand in connection with the extortion case of Rs 10 crore. In this case 8 accused were arrested, while Suresh Pujari was wanted.
In 2015, Suresh Pujari had demanded a week of 10 crore rupees by threatening to kill a finance businessman of Chembur. He had asked the businessman to watch a video uploaded on YouTube, in which he could be seen killing the cable operator of Ulhasnagar.
8 accused were arrested
The operatives of the Pujari gang had killed the cable operator. When he saw the video of the murder, he was completely scared. He had complained to the anti-week squad of RCF police station and crime branch. The crime branch had arrested 8 accused by setting a trap.

A case was registered against the accused under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). The priest was produced in a court on Thursday. The court sent him to police custody till February 8.
More than 2 dozen cases registered
Suresh Pujari has more than two dozen cases of extortion, murder and criminal conspiracy registered against him in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan and Ulhasnagar. Last two to three years ago, the audio of Suresh Pujari threatening a builder in Ulhasnagar had gone viral. The audio contained a conversation between the builder’s boy and Suresh Pujari. When Suresh threatened the builder’s boy, it was his boy who lashed out at Suresh and called him lame.
