Ahmedabad: Gujarat Police has arrested six people allegedly involved in leaking the question paper of an examination conducted recently for the recruitment of government head clerks in the state. . A minister gave this information on Friday. The written examination was conducted by the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB) for the recruitment of 186 Head Clerks on 12th December at various centers across the state in which about 88,000 candidates appeared for the examination.
Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said, “Six of the 10 accused named in the FIR registered at the Prantij police station in Sabarkantha district have been arrested.” The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had earlier claimed that the question paper was leaked ahead of the exam. Sanghvi told reporters in Gandhinagar, “We had formed 24 teams after knowing about the paper leak. While six people involved in the crime have been arrested, the remaining four will also be nabbed soon. As a pre-planned conspiracy, they leaked the paper, solved it, and then gave it to the candidates before the exam.”

He said that no decision has been taken by the state government to cancel the examination so far. The six accused arrested by the Sabarkantha district police have been identified as Dhruv Barot, Mahesh Patel, Chintan Patel, Kuldeep Patel, Darshan Vyas and Suresh Patel, residents of Sabarkantha district.
The FIR states that the accused persons were successful in obtaining the question paper before the examination, after which they sold it to the candidates for around Rs 15 lakh and also helped them solve the paper at various places a day before the examination. . A case has been registered against the accused under sections 420 (cheating), 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
