Puducherry: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has a very important role to play in creating a “self-reliant India”, so it is imperative that this sector utilize the emerging technology in the world. The Prime Minister, after inaugurating the two-day 25th National Youth Festival organized here through video conference, also said that today the world is looking at India with hope that because of the country, from people to mind, from power to dreams. And everything from contemplation to consciousness is young.
He said, “Therefore, what India says today, the world considers it to be the voice of tomorrow. The India that dreams today, the resolve it takes, the future of India as well as the world is visible in it. In view of the current circumstances of COVID, this festival has been organized through digital medium. Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Anurag Thakur, Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangaswamy and Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan were also present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister also released selected essays on “The India of my dreams” and “Unsung Heroes of the Indian Freedom Movement” (Unsung Heroes of the Indian Freedom Movement) on the occasion. More than one lakh youth had written essays on these two subjects, some of which have been selected. He also inaugurated a Technology Center of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. It has been built in Puducherry with an investment of about Rs 122 crore. The Prime Minister also inaugurated Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Manimandapam, an auditorium with open air theatre.

He said, “The MSME sector has a huge role to play in building a self-reliant India. It is very important that our MSMEs make use of the high technology which is changing the world today. That’s why a huge campaign is being run in the country today. The MSME Technology Center in Puducherry is an important step in that direction.” Modi said that with the inauguration of Manimandapam Auditorium, the youth of this Union Territory would get a platform to showcase and showcase their talents.
