New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday and congratulated him on assuming office. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that the two leaders agreed that there is a significant synergy between the governance priorities announced by the new German government and India’s own economic vision.
In particular, they looked forward to launching new cooperation initiatives in the areas of climate action and green energy, so that both countries can achieve their respective climate commitments, it said. They also reviewed the potential of ongoing cooperation initiatives, including promoting investment and trade ties, and agreed to further diversify cooperation and exchanges into new areas, the statement said.
