Indian soldiers were called Kali Paltan during the British rule. Indian soldiers used to live around this temple and due to this this temple came to be called as Kali Paltan Temple. It is said that during the British rule, Indian soldiers used to come to the Aughadnath temple to drink water, but the temple priests opposed the Indian soldiers drinking water from the well in the temple, as the cartridges they used contained water. Cow fat was found. After this, the flames of rebellion broke out among the Indian soldiers against the British rule from here and the revolution of 1857 started.
