Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India has prepared a Smart City Plan. Pimpri-Chinchwad is followed by Pune and Solapur as the leading cities in smart city development. The three cities are expected to complete the entire project by July 2023. Considering the pace of development works, there is a need to create awareness among citizens about how smart city projects will be useful for citizens.
He suggested raising awareness about smart city projects through WhatsApp, Facebook as well as print media. These instructions were given by the Smart City Mission Director and Co-Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs and Urban Development, Kunal Kumar in a review meeting to review the works of Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune Smart City in Auto Cluster, Chinchwad.

Earlier, arrangements were made for Rajmata Jijau Park and parking arrangements, roads, footpaths, open gym for senior citizens in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Pimple Gurav and Pimple Saudagar area under Smart City on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. He also inspected the roads and cycle tracks constructed under Urban Street in the city. He also praised for interacting directly with the citizens regarding development works and knowing their reactions about the projects. Municipal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Patil, Municipal Engineer and Joint Chief Executive Officer Rajan Patil, Chief Information Technology Officer Neelkanth Poman, General Manager Ashok Bhalkar, Chief Financial Officer Sunil Bhosale, Executive Engineer Manoj Sethia, Assistant Chief Executive Officer Laxmikant Kolhe City officials and Consultant Representatives were present.
