Pimpri: Makeover of Pimpri Railway Station and Chinchwad Railway Station on Pune-Mumbai Railway Line should be done. BJP MLA Laxman Jagtap had demanded that railway passengers living in Pimpri-Chinchwad should be given relief by providing various facilities at both the stations. Keeping this in mind the railways has provided various facilities at both Pimpri and Chinchwad railway stations. The Pune office of Railways has informed about this by sending a letter to MLA Jagtap.
MLA Laxman Jagtap had sent a letter to the Divisional Managers of Central Railway on 3 December 2021 demanding makeover of both Pimpri and Chinchwad railway stations. In the letter, he said that Pimpri-Chinchwad is a fast growing city. The population of this city adjacent to Pune has crossed the 25 lakh mark. The number of people traveling by train in this city is in lakhs. For this, these passengers have to go to Pune Railway Junction.
Provide various facilities to the passengers
However, the Pune Railway Junction is inadequate. It takes time to develop alternative junctions to keep up with the increasing volume of rail traffic. Keeping this in mind a new state-of-the-art railway junction should be developed on a disused dairy farm of 50 to 60 acres at Pimpri, adjacent to the Pune-Mumbai railway line. Similarly, Pimpri and Chinchwad railway stations should also be constructed. He had demanded that various facilities should be made available for the passengers at these two railway stations.
