Overall, there was an atmosphere of parting in the Municipal Corporation yesterday. There was also a discussion among the corporators regarding the date of the municipal elections. The term of the corporators ends on March 13 at midnight. Before that the election process had to be completed. However, due to the political reservation of Corona and OBC, the elections could not be held on time. The Supreme Court has rejected the Backward Classes Commission’s report on the political patronage of the OBC community. Therefore, the state government is adamant on not holding elections without OBC reservation. Now the government has taken the right of formation of wards in its own hands. In such a situation, it is not possible to say when the municipal elections will be held.
