Ranchi : All the petrol pumps in the state remained closed today on the call of the Jharkhand Petroleum Dealers Association demanding the state government to reduce the VAT rate. Due to this, the drivers have to face problems across the state.
Expressing displeasure over the Hemant Soren government, Dr. Asha Lakra, BJP’s National Minister cum Mayor of Ranchi expressed displeasure over the closure of petrol pumps in the entire state for not reducing the VAT rate by the state government. In West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, the price of petrol and diesel has come down significantly as compared to earlier. The central government gave a big relief to the people of the country by cutting the rate of VAT.

On the same lines, the state government should also do the work of providing relief to the people of the state by cutting the rate of VAT. Due to the reduction in the rate of petrol and diesel in the neighboring states, businessmen associated with the transport business are buying petrol and diesel from the neighboring states. In such a situation, the business of all the petrol pump owners of the state is getting affected, which is directly affecting the state treasury. The reduction in the current rate of VAT on petrol and diesel will not only bring relief to the people of the state, but the business of petrol pump owners will also increase and the state treasury will also increase. He said that today there is availability of some kind of vehicle in every house. Petrol and diesel have become a daily necessity of every person. The condition of common people is not such that they can store petrol and diesel. Every person buys petrol and diesel according to his requirement. Therefore, there is a need for the state government to reconsider in this direction. Asha Lakra said that I hope that the state government will take positive initiative in this direction at the earliest and work to provide relief to the people of the state.
