Pune: A case of cheating of Rs 45,000 from the pathology lab owner claiming to be an employee of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has come to light. A 36-year-old woman has lodged an FIR in this matter at Wakad Police Station.
According to the complaint, in May 2021, the woman received a call on her phone from a person who claimed that she was from the security forces and was posted at the Pune International Airport. The man told the complainant that he wanted to get the blood tested of six people at the airport. He identified himself as Abhishek Gupta and also sent a CISF identity card to the complainant. After which the woman assumed that she was working in the ISF.
Money transfer done without woman’s consent
The woman told him that her pathology lab would charge Rs 18,000 (Rs 3,000 per person) for the blood test. The fraudster transferred Rs 5 to the complainant’s Google Pay number and asked him to check whether he had received the money while on phone call. Meanwhile, Rs 45,000 was transferred from the account of the complainant woman through two online transactions of Rs 9,000 and Rs 36,000 without her consent.

Case registered on court order
In this case, the woman had lodged a complaint in the court. The court on January 24 ordered registration of the offense and probe into the matter. Accordingly, an FIR has been registered and investigation has been started.
