Mumbai: The number of passengers traveling in Mumbai Metro One has currently crossed 2 lakhs. It was told that there are still less than 50% passengers as compared to Pre-Covid. Last year, the operation of Mumbai Metro One remained closed for 211 days during the Corona period. The Metro operated by R-Infra gradually increased the passenger count to over 100,000 during the weekdays of February-March 2021. Mumbai Metro One’s weekday commuters fell below 50,000 due to restrictions imposed during the second wave of Covid (April-May 2021).
Passenger numbers started improving from the second half of July 2021 after relaxation in travel rules and removal of restrictions. Mumbai Metro One’s weekday ridership reached 2 lakh by the beginning of December 2021. Now this number has reached above 2 lakh 5 thousand.

The number of passengers is increasing in Mumbai Metro One running between Ghatkopar to Versova. Metro station pre-covid recovery rate has increased station wise. Metro services are available between 6:30 am to 11:15 pm. The first train departs at 6:30 AM and the last one at 10:30 AM. Similarly, the first train leaves from Ghatkopar at 6:30 in the morning and the last at 10:55 in the night. Mumbai Metro One currently operates 298 trips on weekdays with a service frequency of 4 minutes during peak hours and 6-10 minutes during off-peak hours. Passenger numbers are expected to increase this week when schools-colleges reopen.
