Plane Crash has a long history in Pakistan. Sometimes there have been accidents due to its unskilled pilots, sometimes due to misdirection of air traffic control. However, a plane crash that occurred in Pakistan on this day in 2012 was due to the bad weather. This plane accident was so painful that all 127 crew members and passengers aboard the plane died. It is worth noting here that the aircraft was just five km away from the airport, but it crashed before landing.
On 20 April 2012, Bhoja Air Flight 213 was a domestic passenger flight operated by Bhoja Air. This plane is going from Karachi to the capital Islamabad. The aircraft had six crew members and 121 passengers. The plane took off from Karachi at five in the evening and was supposed to reach Islamabad at 6.30 pm. However, the pilot’s difficulties were increasing due to bad weather. Air traffic control told the pilot and crew members that the area is raining in full swing and it is likely to continue. During the journey, it faced a lot of turbulence, so it kept moving forward.
Landing permission granted, but bad weather spoiled the game
However, only a few minutes later, the aircraft started experiencing bad conditions. The thing to note here is that it was said in the manual of the airline that the aircraft should be returned in case of inclement weather. But the pilot continued to fly the aircraft, ignoring it. At the same time, the pilot took command by removing the aircraft from the autopilot. Islamabad Airport had given permission for landing the aircraft. In such a situation, the aircraft was now getting ready for landing. Secondly, stress was increasing due to bad weather in the aircraft.
The pilot did not take any action even after the alarm alarm sounded
The airspeed of the aircraft started to decrease due to bad weather. After a few seconds the wind sheer alarm also started ringing, but the pilot did not take any concrete step in this direction. At the same time, after the autopilot was removed, the command of the aircraft was in the hands of the pilot. But the aircraft was stuck between strong wind and electric crackle. Now the pilot could not understand anything. The control of the pilot was gradually being lost from the aircraft. Now the aircraft started going downhill fast.
Crash occurred in a village near the airport
The pilot could not control the plane even though he wanted, and it crashed in a village located five kilometers away from the airport. The plane crashed in Hussainabad village of Rawalpindi. The flames started rising as the plane hit the ground. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the relief and rescue team reached the spot to help the people. All 127 crew members and passengers aboard the plane were killed in this plane crash.
Pilot’s fault revealed during investigation
Initial investigation revealed that due to heavy rains and storms, the aircraft had to face trouble in landing. It was told that the pilot tried to land the aircraft even after bad weather, while it should return. At the same time, eyewitnesses said that the plane was hit by sky lightning and became a fireball. However, in the plane crash, it was a shock that the accident took place in a residential area, but no casualties were reported on the ground.
