Four people died and 11 were injured in a blast in a luxury hotel outside Quetta in Pakistan. Officials said the car exploded in the hotel parking lot. Pakistan Home Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that the Chinese ambassador was staying in this hotel. But he was not present there during the blast. Pakistan Taliban has claimed responsibility for this attack.
Provincial Home Minister Jiaullah Lango said that the ambassadors are absolutely fine. Local police officer Naseer Malik said that the blast in the parking lot of Serena Hotel shook the city. 11 people have been injured in this attack. Wasim Baig, an official of the local hospital, said that four people had died in the blast and the condition of the injured people remained critical. At the same time, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that a car full of explosives broke into the hotel. Pakistan Taliban has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Taliban Pakistan said- It was a suicide attack
A spokesman for the terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) messaged a Reuters reporter that the attack on the hotel was a suicide blast. Our suicide bomber used his car loaded with explosives for this attack. According to the tweet by Liaquat Shahwani, a spokesman for the provincial government, Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong met provincial Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the city earlier in the day.
Chinese embassy did not give any statement regarding the attack
Provincial Home Minister Jiaullah Lango told reporters that I had met him (Chinese ambassador). His enthusiasm was worth seeing. Lango said that despite the blast, the Chinese ambassador will complete his tour of Quetta on Thursday. On the other hand, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad has not yet provided any comment on the matter. Significantly, the Pakistani Taliban continues to target most of the major buildings and cities of Pakistan.
Quetta is the capital of the restive Balochistan province
The well-organized hotel is next to the Iranian consulate and the provincial assembly. Quetta is the capital of the mineral-rich Balochistan province bordering Iran and Afghanistan. Insurgency has been spread by local groups in Balochistan for a long time. They demand that they should be given more share in regional resources.
