Nagpur. The public transport system of any city is identified there, because people coming from other cities do not know the way there. In such a situation, he first encounters an auto rickshaw to go to his destination. Whatever that person gets to see from here, it is enough to spoil the appearance of the city. Whether it is station or bus stop or airport, people coming from other cities see over-seat auto rickshaws. At the same time, one has to argue with the auto driver for the proper rate for the fare. Overall, the over-seat auto rickshaw on the face of the city of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari is no less than spots.
forced to ride
Sanket Sharma living in Mumbai is a marketing manager in a private company. He often travels to and from Nagpur by train in connection with work. To reach their destination, they find auto rickshaw to be the best means, but here they first encounter over seat autos. Considering this as the final arrangement of the city, Sanket and people like him hang under compulsion, shrinking and increasing one more seat in the already over-seat auto. Even if an auto rickshaw is found empty, one breaks sweat after hearing the arbitrary fare. For a long time, they are forced to argue for reducing the rent. On the contrary, as soon as they reach Mumbai, they directly board the auto, the meter is down and they reach home at the rate fixed by the RTO without any debate and emotion, but they or the Orange City residents never got this experience.
Showpiece turned meter
A few years ago, meters were forcibly installed in all the autos of the city by the RTO and the city traffic department. After this, a strict rule has been made to run auto rickshaw without meter. However, now these meters have become just showpieces as no auto rickshaw driver wants to use them. If the ride is wanted, it is dropped from the auto rickshaw. Overall, the loudness with which these meters were installed is proving to be a hoax.
Speed is lethal then why not over seat
The over-seat autos running on the streets of the city are no less visible than the eunuch’s vehicle. Even in an auto rickshaw with a maximum capacity of 3 passengers, 8-8 people can be seen, even in this the driver does not go without. To avoid the traffic police, the drivers drive the auto rickshaw at full speed despite having an over seat. There is always the possibility of an accident because of this. A few days ago, the state government’s transport department had cited the high speed of vehicles as the main reason for the increasing number of fatal road accidents. The department also issued a government order by fixing the speed limit according to different roads and vehicles. But surprisingly, the Transport Department did not consider the over-seat auto rickshaw to be fatal. Although the meter rule is strictly followed by the department in Pune and Mumbai, it is beyond comprehension why this system fails after coming to Nagpur.
