Nashik Road: Out of the outstanding electricity bills of agricultural pumps, the electricity bills of 1,280 villages of 3 lakh 75 thousand 254 farmers have been waived, giving the benefit of 66 percent convenience. At the same time, farmers who have taken connections from 30 thousand 399 meters across the state have paid the entire dues. The state government’s Agriculture Pump Electricity Connection Policy-2020 being run by Mahavitaran is getting great success. If 50 percent of the current bill and the revised arrears are paid by March 31, then the remaining arrears will be waived off.
The arrears of electricity bills are waived, adding new connections to agricultural pumps, planning to spend 66 percent of the paid agricultural electricity bills for local electricity machinery, the implementation of the policy of connecting electricity to agricultural pumps has been started in full swing. The policy under the leadership of Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut and implementation under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director of Mahavitaran, Vijay Singhal is getting overwhelming response from the farmers. As a result, the dream of getting rid of electricity bill arrears of 1280 villages having 3 lakh 75 thousand farmers has come true.

2063.43 crore farmers paid
So far 19 lakh 58 thousand 734 farmers have participated and paid 2063 crore 43 lakh rupees in the arrears relief scheme. A total of Rs 6,100 crore dues of these farmers have been waived off. Most farmers in 1122 villages of Konkan region, 93 in Pune, 61 in Nagpur, 4 villages in Aurangabad region have been waived 100 per cent by paying existing electricity bills and 50 per cent revised dues. Similarly, 30,399 distribution boards across the state have been cleared of electricity bills for agricultural pumps. 43 thousand 775 farmers who have taken electricity connection from these Rohitras have paid Rs 38 crore 29 lakh. This includes 10,044 Rohitr in Konkan, 8,230 in Pune, 8,393 in Nagpur and 3,732 in Aurangabad regional division.
You can participate in the scheme till March 31
So far, 3 lakh 75 thousand 254 farmers in the state have been waived off the entire arrears of electricity bills of agricultural pumps. These farmers have paid a total of Rs 754.58 crore and 50 percent of the revised arrears in the current bill. They have got an additional exemption of Rs 544.32 crore for late charge, interest and remaining 50 per cent dues. There is a 50 per cent rebate on the revised dues till March 31, 2022. The farmers who have not yet participated in the scheme have a chance to get rid of the arrears on payment of the current bill and 50 per cent arrears. Also, farmers who have participated in the scheme but have paid less than 50% of the required current bills and revised dues. They will be able to pay the entire electricity bill of the agriculture pump on payment of balance current bill and dues by 31st March.
Redressal of complaints and doubts in regional offices
The Headquarters has directed the Regional Offices to immediately resolve any complaints or doubts regarding the electricity bills of agricultural pumps. Till date, out of 1 lakh 59 thousand 347 complaints regarding bills of agricultural pumps, 1 lakh 50 thousand 421 (94.4 percent) have been resolved from across the state. Along with this, an adjustment of about Rs 273 crore has been made in the electricity bill of the farmers concerned. Mahavitaran has appealed to the farmers to pay the electricity bill of the agricultural pump by paying 50 percent of the current revised arrears and current bill by next March.
