A rebate of about 66 percent is being given for the relief of arrears of agricultural pump electricity bills from the Agriculture Pump Connection Policy formulated by the State Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut. By taking advantage of the scheme, 3 lakh 50 thousand 338 farmers of the state have paid their electricity bills. These farmers had a revised dues of Rs 1,020.65 crore. They have paid electricity bills of Rs 184.92 crore and 50 per cent dues i.e. Rs 510.42 crore of the current electricity bills, thus availing the opportunity to pay the entire electricity bill. These farmers have got a rebate of the remaining 50 percent or Rs 510.43 crore.
