Whose water is completely safe and potable. A few years back the number of wells in the city was more than 200. But now most of the wells have become unusable.

The city’s wells are getting destroyed due to lack of cleanliness. Every year, municipal administration conducts survey of wells in view of summers and in case of any obstruction in water supply, wells are cleaned to provide water from tankers. But the current situation is that the Municipal Corporation has the arrangement to use only the water of the fire department’s well.
Apart from this, water is obtained from wells and ponds of Malkhed when needed. In the last 10 years, about 123 wells in the municipal area have become unusable. Whereas at present there are only 68 such wells. Whose existence continues.
Out of these, only 12 wells are in this condition whose water can be used. In view of the shortage of water in the city, the completion of wells is a very worrying sign. On behalf of the Municipal Administration, the Fire Department and Sanitation Department have been ordered to clean the wells.
