Aurangabad: By giving a fake number of Flipkart Customer Helpline to an officer working in the Indian Army team, by downloading the Any Desk App with the help of it, defrauding 1 lakh rupees. The matter came to the fore. But, with the promptness of the Cyber Police of the City Police Commissionerate, the looted amount was recovered from the account of the Army Officer.
PI Gautam Patare of Aurangabad Cyber Police said that in the past, an officer working in the Aurangabad department of the Indian Army team had ordered a track suit from Flipkart. Due to the wrong size of the track suit, the said officer searched the customer helpline of Flipkart on Google. Then they found the phone number loaded on Google by the cyber criminal. On calling the army officer on that number, on the pretext of downloading the Any Desk app, the criminal withdrew 1 lakh rupees from the army officer’s account, while getting all the information about the ATM. After that, he hung up the phone assuring him of getting the track suit amount soon.

The Army officer immediately contacted the Aurangabad Cyber Police after the officer learned about the withdrawal of Rs 1 lakh from his account late in the evening. Coming into action, police personnel working in cyber police station Dhananjay Sanap, Sushant Shelke, Vijay Ghuge succeeded in getting the looted amount of 1 lakh back in the army officer’s account by trapping the concerned wallet by correspondence through e-mail. On receiving the money, the army officer reached the cyber police station and felicitated PI Patare, police personnel Dhananjay Sanap, Sushant Shelke and Vijay Ghuge. This action was completed under the guidance of city CP Dr. Nikhil Gupta, DCP Arpana Gitte, ACP Vishal Dhume, PI Gautam Patare, police personnel Dhananjay Sanap, Sushant Shelke, Vijay Ghuge.
Do not give bank information to unknown person
Cyber Police PI Gautam Patare has appealed to the citizens not to give their bank account information to unknown person by relying on unknown phone calls, messages or links. PI Patare said that no bank obtains the personal information of the account holder over the phone. For information about the bank account, go to the branch of the concerned bank and get information. If any citizen falls in the trap of cyber criminals, then he should immediately contact the cyber police.
