Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra said on Sunday that eight cases of Omicron form of corona virus have been reported in Indore of the state. This is the first time that the Madhya Pradesh government has confirmed this new form to be in the state.
Mishra told reporters here, “Eight Omicron cases have been found in Indore. Of these patients, six have recovered and been discharged from the hospital, while two are undergoing treatment.” He said that, recently around 3,000 people returned to Indore from abroad and 26 of them were found infected with the corona virus.

“Omicron was confirmed in the genome sequencing of eight of these people,” Mishra said. According to officials, samples of these people who returned to Indore, the industrial center of the state from different countries, were taken between December 17 and 21.
He said that these infected people included two men aged 20 and 30, who had come from New York (USA) on December 14 and 19 respectively, a 23-year-old woman who arrived from London (UK) on December 14, December 19. These include a 33-year-old woman who returned from Tanzania (East Africa) on December 17, a 33-year-old woman who returned from Ghana (West Africa) on December 17 and two men aged 26 and 31 who arrived from Dubai on December 13 and 18, respectively.
