Thiruvananthapuram: Omicron seems to be growing rapidly in Kerala. Today seven more new cases have come in the state. After which the total number of infected has increased to 64.
The state health department said on Tuesday that out of the seven new cases, four have been reported in Pathanamthitta, two in Alappuzha and one in Thiruvananthapuram. According to a release issued by the department, two of these people have returned from the United Arab Emirates, while one person each has returned from Ireland, Qatar, Italy and Tanzania. At the same time, a person has got infected by coming in contact with the infected patient. Omicron’s investigation took place at the Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology.

It is noteworthy that from December 30 to January 2, the state government has imposed night curfew in the state from 10 pm to 5 am. The government says that keeping in mind the increasing cases of Omicron, theaters have been asked not to broadcast films after 10 pm.
2,474 new cases of corona virus
On Tuesday, 2,474 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Kerala, after which the total number of infected people increased to 52,27,403. At the same time, 244 more deaths were recorded due to the epidemic, after which the death toll reached 47,066. According to the release, 38 of these 244 deaths occurred in the last few days and 206 have been declared as COVID-19 deaths based on the new guidelines of the Center and the direction of the Supreme Court. At present 20,400 patients of COVID are under treatment in the state. Since Monday, 3052 more people have become free from infection in the state, taking the total number of people who have recovered from the disease in the state to 51,71,080.
