Thane : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will launch OBC Awareness Campaign in the state. The campaign will start from Thane city. In this connection, OBC convention has been organized at Tip Top Plaza in Thane on Sunday. State Home Works Minister Dr. Jitendra Awhad will be the chief guest.
NCP Thane city president Anand Paranjpe and NCP’s OBC cell’s state general secretary Raj Rajapurkar said in a press conference that senior ideologues Hari Narke, NCP’s OBC cell’s state president Ishwar Balbudhe and Samata Parishad’s Bapu Bhujbal will address the gathering. The policy of the central government has created a mess of royal figures and this has a direct impact on the political reservation of OBCs. OBC conferences will be organized across the state to create awareness among OBCs. On this occasion, Thane city president of NCP’s OBC cell Gajanan Choudhary was present.

The political reservation of OBC has created a ruckus in the whole country. If OBCs want reservation then they will have to struggle. Keeping this in mind, the conference is being organized. Representatives of 178 out of 354 OBC castes of the state will participate in the convention. Education-job and political reservation will be discussed in this conference. Also this conference was organized on the basis of knowing the issues of OBC caste groups and laying the foundation for building a statewide movement in that direction. Around 500 OBC representatives from across the state will be present.
Like the OBC Parishad in Thane, the OBC cells will be organized by the Nationalist Congress Party’s OBC cell in other parts of the state starting from Thane. Therefore, Anand Paranjpe has appealed to the representatives of all OBC caste groups of Thane district to put their questions in the OBC convention.
