Two months after the Taliban took control of Kabul, India on Wednesday hosted the third edition of the Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan. The NSA-level meeting was chaired by India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Top security officials from Russia, Iran and five countries of Central Asia, who attended the meeting, also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Wednesday.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla were also present during the meeting of top security officials with the Prime Minister, officials said. These security officials are understood to have apprised the Prime Minister of key points of discussion in the “Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan”.

India is hosting the meeting with an aim to strengthen a common vision for practical cooperation in countering the growing threats of terrorism, radicalization and drug trafficking after the Taliban capture Kabul. Security officials from Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan took part in this conversation.

The talks called for strong support for a peaceful, secure and stable Afghanistan, and that Afghan soil should not be used to harbor, train or finance any terrorist acts.
