Paying taxes for 6 decades
The National Highway passing through Chandur Bazar city has been in constant discussion for the last two years. This road was earlier with the municipality. But it was handed over to the Public Works Department for the maintenance of the road. Now that this road is becoming a part of the National Highway, the Public Works Department has also transferred this road to the National Highway in its present condition. 80 to 90 citizens live on this route and their commercial reputation is also on this route. They have their ownership documents and for the last sixty-seven years these citizens have been paying taxes continuously in the municipality.
be 6 meters away
In order to check whether the property holders have their ownership documents on this route, the Chandur Bazar Tehsildar issued a notice to the citizens on 28 December to submit the documents of their property in the Municipal Auditorium on 31 December as per the order of the District Collector Amravati. were given. Accordingly, the notice holders submitted complete documents including purchase letter of their property, house tax payment receipt.
But, without inspecting these documents, on the evening of December 31, the National Highways Department issued notices to the property owners to remove the encroachments immediately. It has also been mentioned in the notice that there should be a construction of citizens at a distance of 6 meters from the boundary of this road. It has been said in this notice that on January 2, the encroachment on this road will be removed. But information has been received from the police administration that this action will be taken on the 4th.
lack of coordination
The Tehsildar said that the District Collector mediate between the National Highways Department and the citizens, action would be taken only after verifying the documents of the citizens. But the notice issued by the National Highways Department regarding immediate removal of encroachment on December 31 shows that the order of the District Collector is being contemptuous. While the district administration is participating in the road construction in coordination, the National Highways Department has exposed the lack of coordination by showing the garbage basket to the orders of the District Collector. But in this affair, the homes of many citizens are on the verge of destruction.
