Lucknow: The facility of Genome Sequencing is being continuously expanded in the state to test new variants of Coronavirus. Genome sequencing is being done in many institutes of the state for accurate identification of variants. Keeping in mind the increasing cases, CM Yogi has ordered the officials to increase the means of genome sequencing. He said that this facility should be made available immediately in the major medical institutions of Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Ghaziabad and also in SGPGI Lucknow.
Let us inform that the State Government has already made arrangements for genome testing in BHU, KGMU, CDRI, IGIB, Ram Manohar Lohia Institute, increasing the scope of genome sequencing in the state.
State government fully alert
The state government is fully alert in view of the increase in COVID cases. The availability of essential medicines is being ensured by the Health Department in all the districts. From this week itself, door-to-door distribution of medical kits will be done. COVID help desks will be functional with immediate effect in all government, semi-government, private, trust etc. institutions, companies, educational institutions, offices, industrial units of the state. No one will be allowed to enter the premises without screening and sanitisation.

In view of the important role of the police force in the upcoming assembly elections, the CM has given instructions to make all arrangements to protect against COVID. In the state from January 10, all corona warriors, healthcare and frontline workers as well as citizens with co-morbidities above 60 years of age will be given pre-concussion dose. CM has ordered to give pre-causation dose to every member of the police force. About 10 lakh frontline workers and 10 lakh health care workers will be given this booster dose in the state.
