After hearing the petition on Wednesday, Justice Sunil Shukre and Justice Anil Pansare said that the road map for the preparation and implementation of some plans for the rejuvenation of the Nag river is visible, but so far no effective steps have been taken regarding the plan. not picked up. Whether any tender has been issued till now, it is not even disclosed. It is also not known whether any agency has been appointed for rejuvenation in the same way. time bound action
Expressing displeasure over the situation on the banks of the Nag river, the court said in the order that these slums and illegal constructions should be identified with immediate effect. Apart from this, time bound action should be taken to remove them. If the help of the police is needed in this, then that too should be taken. The court included the Commissioner of Police as the new respondent to assist the police. The court also ordered to submit a report on the steps being taken to remove encroachments from the banks of the Nag river and its associated drains by the next date.
The notice has not yet been received by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti
The court said in the order that orders were issued to the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti to file a reply in the year 2021 itself, but surprisingly, the ministry has not received the notice yet. Taking this seriously, the court ordered the Registrar Judicial to take effective steps if the notice is received by the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. Along with this, orders were also given to give service report on the next date.
