Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath: Nithin Kamath, cofounder and CEO of Zerodha has an interesting take on “most issues in life”. Similarly, they believe that YAMO (you are not missing an opportunity) is greater than FOMO (fear of missing an opportunity) in all areas of normal life.
Kamat, who runs India’s largest online brokerage and regularly shares his insights on developments in various market segments with Twitter users, shared a blog post by Kailash Nadh, co-founder of Zerodha’s tech team .

Sharing a screenshot of a key part of the blog, Kamat said that even though the post may “go over the heads of non-techies like him”, it is not only about “tech but also for those in investing, trading, running businesses and life.” Applies to most areas.
The blog post argues that when it comes to developments in the “software space” it’s really hard to give up on anything. “If a software manages to “leave out” and its FOMO is realized, then it is possible to achieve and adopt it,” he said.
Common sense required
The blog post says, “When one wants to drink tea, no one asks whether one would prefer boiled water over a gas stove, or an electric kettle, or a microwave, or a solar heater. People use common sense to choose what is available and fit for work, the only goal being to make potable tea. Then why do software have multiple kettles to look for problems instead of boiling water?”
According to it, “N0SQL DBs are the solution to all data problems; Container technology is the solution to all deployment problems; The JavaScript framework is the only alternative to web development – ad infinitum.
Through a blogpost, Nadh says that software trends come and go. And those people are not giving up. He said, “Indeed, with FOSS one cannot escape software. It doesn’t make any sense.”
